Trouble Basing WOMT help

Postby Lord Hyper » Sun Feb 28, 2010 4:15 am

I have decided to redo my WOMT bases as they looked aweful and out of date. I put a stone tyle like in Minas Tirith to base them. But what I had to do was take the model off completely (just hte two legs) and then base and then glue them on. But now when I put them in their DISPLAY bases, everytime I pull them out they just easily snap off the base since there is no supportnow. They look great but they need something for support. I'm thinking of pining. Has anyone got some tips on it as I rarley do it at all and also are there any other suggestions? The new bases look great but are far too fragile.

Use Plastic Glue, it is alot strong for plastic models than super glue. Hence the title of of Plastic Glue.

Well as the title suggest plastic glue only works on plastics, so if you plan to stick the model to a rock or something non plastic ( I dont know what your bases consist of) then plastic glue wont work. If it is an all plastic base, definatly plastic glue.
As you have already suggested, pinning is really the best way. It will take longer per model, but it is better taking the time and having them securely on than risking them all the time. I would just pin up through their heel up to their shins and down into whatever you base material is. I dont pin often so cant offer much advice on that, but that is probably the target area you want.
